    Dongfeng’s 350 Wh/kg Solid-State Battery: 820 km Range & 5-Minute Ultra-Fast Charging by 2026

    Dongfeng plans to launch a 350 Wh/kg solid-state battery for electric cars by September 2026, promising up to 820 km (WLTP) range, ultra-fast 2 MW charging, and a major shift in EV battery technology.

    Ab tak hum log electric cars ki batteries ko do main groups mein divide karne ko adapt ho chuke hai, chahe woh pure electric (BEV) ho ya hybrid, plug-in hybrid ya phir normal hybrid (PHEV/HEV). Ek side hoti hai LFP batteries (lithium iron phosphate wali), or other side is NMC batteries, jisme nickel, cadmium aur manganese use hoti hai, jaise unke name se hi samajh aata hai.


    LFP batteries aajkal kaafi popular ho gayi hai because inka manufacturing cost thoda kam hota hai. Dusri taraf, NMC batteries zyada energy density offer karti hai. But ek aise type ki battery bhi hai jo abhi tak future ki technology lagti thi, par lagta hai woh future ab expect se zyada paas aa gaya hai.


    Solid-states batteries now appear to be a reality


    Stellantis ne pehle announce kiya tha ki woh electric Dodge Charger Daytona units develop kar rahe hai, jinmein solid-state batteries install hongi. Yeh cars abhi sale ke liye nahi hai, rather ek display fleet ke taur par use hongi so that unki capabilities or performance ko test kiya ja sake, yeh project Factorial ke saath collaboration mein ho raha hai.


    Stellantis ne yeh bhi mention kiya ki room temperature par sirf 18 min lagte hai battery ko 15% se 90% tak charge karne mein, jo normally aaj-kal wali batteries ke 20% se 80% range se kaafi zyada hai.


    Ek aur important cheez unhone batayi ki battery -30°C se 40°C tak ke temperature range mein kaam kar sakti hai. And the biggest point is in extreme conditions mein yeh batteries LFP batteries se zyada acchi autonomy maintain karti hai.


    Dongfeng's battery technology is making a big impact


    Ab Dongfeng ne level hi high kar diya hai. Haan, wohi Dongfeng jo Spain mein affordable Dongfeng Box offer karta hai, Renault 5 E-Tech ya Citroen e-C3 ke electric alternative. Aur haan, wohi Dongfeng jo doosri side ek massive MHero I bhi deta hai, jisme 1,000+ hp ki power hai or 450 km se zyada ki range.


    Dongfeng jo China ki biggest automotive companies mein se ek hai, kaafi time se is technology par kaam kar rahi hai. Ab unka plan hai ki September 2026 tak solid-state battery waali electric cars market mein le aayen. In batteries ka main benefit energy density increase karna hai.


    450 Kilometers of range within 5-min charge


    Dongfeng claim kar raha hai ki in solid-state batteries ki energy density 350 Wh/kg hogi. Yeh kaafi realistic lagta hai, because Stellantis ne apni Charger Daytona batteries ke liye, Factorial ke saath jointly 375 Wh/kg tak ki even higher density ka promise kiya hai.


    Dongfeng ek 1,200-volt architecture pe kaam kar raha hai, jisse 1,700-volt silicon carbide module ki wajah se 2-megawatt charging possible ho payegi. Numbers yeh show karte hai ki sirf 5 minki charging se approx. 450km ki range wapas mil sakti hai. Simple words mein, har second approx. 2.5 km ki range add ho jayegi.


    Over 800 km of range


    Dongfeng keh raha hai ki full battery charge pe 621 miles (approx.1000 km) range on-offer kerega, but yahan thoda trick hai, because yeh CLTC cycle ke according measure kiya gaya hai, jo WLTP standards (jo Europe mein use hote hai) usse kaafi zyada lenient hota hai. Phir bhi, `real-world ya WLTP cycle mein bhi car approx. 820km tak chalni chahiye.


    Haan, filhaal jo numbers or data aa rahe hai, woh China mein manufactured hone wali cars ke `hi mil rahe hai. Wahan ki brands usually Europe jaise French, Italian ya German brands se thodi different methodology follow karti hai.


    But ek cheez ab kaafi clear hoti ja rahi hai: solid-state batteries koi fantasy nahi hai. Roz-roz woh reality ki aur close aa rahi hai or 2026 tak hum unke real-world examples dekhne waale hai.
