Tata Safari ka EV version this year festive season tak India mein launch hone wala hai. Safari EV Tata ki flagship electric car ban jayegi, jo abhi Tata Harrier EV ka paas hai. And yeh Tata ki first three-row EV bhi hogi.
Tata Safari EV platform and powertrains
Internally iska codename "Tayrona" hai (isse Volkswagen Tayron ke saath confuse mat karna), and Safari EV same acti.ev+ platform pe based hogi jo Harrier EV me use ho raha hai.
Bas ek important baat: yeh ek ICE-to-EV conversion hai, means pehle se EV ke liye design nahi ki gayi, baad me electric me convert ki gayi hai, koi fully born EV nahi hai.
AWD option expected

Safari EV se expected hai ki wo Tata Harrier EV wali battery or motor setup hi use kare, means 65kWh or 75kWh options offer ho gaye, and standard mein single rear motor (RWD) rahega.
And yes, chances hai ki dual motor AWD setup bhi Safari EV mein mile, because wo already Harrier EV ke 75kWh battery wale variant ke saath available hai.
Range ki baat karein, so Harrier EV ARAI ke according around 627 km deti hai (75kWh RWD version), 622 km (75kWh AWD), or 538 km (65kWh RWD). Ab Safari thodi bulky or heavy hai, so uski EV version mein thoda lower range expect kar sakte ho. And yes, Safari EV mein 100kW tak DC fast charging ka support milne ke chances bhi hai.
Safari EV mein or bhi upgrades expected hai jo Harrier EV se liye gaye hai, jaise zyada terrain modes: Normal, Snow/Grass, Mud-Ruts, Sand, Rock Crawl or Custom. Saath hi, better ride comfort ke liye multi link rear suspension offer hoga with frequency-dependent dampers.

Other Tata EVs ki tarah, Safari EV mein bhi minor styling changes expected hai jaise closed grille section, thode updated bumpers, EV specific badging, or aero optimized alloy wheels. Size according, Safari EV most likely apne ICE version jaisi hi hogi.

Waise hi, Safari EV ka interior layout bhi ICE version jaisa hi rehne wala hai. But Safari EV ko TiDAL (Tata Intelligent Digital Architecture Layer) E&E architecture ka benefit milega, jo pehle Harrier EV ke saath introduce hua tha.

Harrier EV mein TiDAL kaafi cool features deta hai, jaise OTA updates, 540-degree surround view, better calibrated Level 2 ADAS, auto park assist, low speed cruise control (Off-road Assist), or ek UPI based in car payment system (Drivepay). Isme summon mode bhi hai, jisse tum car ko remotely tight parking se extricate kar sakte ho, or bhi kaafi kuch milta hai.
Tata Safari launch details and price estimate
Tata August 2026 tak Safari EV ka production start karne wali hai, festive season launch se before. Harrier EV ke same internals hone ki wajah se Safari EV ko jaldi ready kar liya gaya hai.
And interesting thing is 2026 mein yeh Safari lineup second powertrain hoga, because is year pehle hi Safari petrol version launch ho chuka hai.
Incremental sales of 1,000-1,500 units expected
Safari EV bhi Tata ke electric SUV lineup ko complete karegi. Jab yeh launch hogi, tab Tata ki har current SUV ICE or EV both options mein available hogi. Safari EV se Tata ko around 1,000-1,500 extra sales bhi mil sakti hai.
Rivals ki baat karein so Safari EV ka main competition Mahindra XEV 9S se hoga, or isi wajah se iska price roughly Rs. 22.5 lakh se Rs. 30 lakh between ho sakta hai. Reference ke liye, Harrier EV ki price range Rs. 21.49 se Rs. 28.99 lakh hai (charger cost or Stealth Edition cosmetic packages ko exclude karke).
