Not all Chinese automakers are winning in Spain

While top names like MG and BYD show strong growth, many Chinese brands still lag with minimal registrations in 2025.

Not all Chinese automakers are winning in Spain
    Areeb Khan

Recent years mein Europe ke market mein Chinese brands ka rise kaafi hot topic bana hua hai, people talking about kaise pehle bilkul unknown companies ne established brands ko challenge kiya or gradually market ka massive pie grab kar liya, Even main bhi iss baat se agree karta hoon or isme believe karta hoon. But saath hi kuch aise brands bhi hai jinka market share ab itna down ho gaya hai ki bas pie ke crumbs hi bache hai.

Not all Chinese brands achieve sales like MG or BYD

Other side, jab kuch brands ne 2025 mein thousands of sales ki hai, wahi kuch aise brands bhi rahe jo 1,000 ka figure bhi cross nahi kar paaye. Example ke liye, Dacia Sandero ne total 38,548 units register kiye, means roughly 3,210 cars per month, ya phir average mein everyday around 107 Sanderos sell hue.

Bilkul clear hai ki kuch brands is number tak isliye nahi pahunch paaye because public abhi unhe theek se jaante hi nahi hai. From the very first public ko brand ke baare mein pata hona chahiye. Aur especially Western customers ke case mein, Chinese market ke public ke comparison mein, woh mostly ek well known brand ya logo (Brand logo) par hi trust karte hai, jisse unka koi connection ho ya jiska unke saath thodi history ho.

Due to various reasons, many are newcomer brands

Ye baat mainstream or premium both brands par apply hoti hai. Mercedes or BMW abhi bhi benchmark bane hue hai (Both of these just above MG).

Ek or reason ye hai ki in brands ko popular hone ka time hi nahi mila, because ye sirf kuch months pehle aaye hai. simple words mein, whole year bhi market mein nahi rahe or abhi abhi first units register hue hai. Jaise BYD ka premium brand Denza, jo Z9 GT or D9 minivan ke saath launch ho raha hai, uska bhi exactly same case hai.

Ek or factor jo consider karni chahiye wo hai unki visibility, jo to be extent dealer networks se linked hoti hai. Kuch brands ne regional ya national level ke importers pe rely kiya hai, jinhone high traffic areas mein acchi locations secure kar li. But kuch or brands ne apna separate niche khud create karne ki try ki, jo kaafi slow process raha or abhi tak koi significant result nahi mile.

In 2025, some brands registered only a few units

For example, Leapmotor jaise brands (jo Stellantis ke saath joint venture hai, isliye unko dealership mein jagah mil jaati hai) or Evo ne 2025 mein 1,000+ units sell ki hai. Leapmotors ka case to an extent Denza jaisa hi hai. Lynk & Co ne bhi ye milestone achieve kar liya hai, because wo market mein kaafi years se hai or unka 01 model sabse zyada established hai.

Last year other brands ne 1000 units tak bhi nahi achieve kar paaye. Ye haal Bestune, DFSK, Livan, Xpeng or Dongfeng jaise brands ka hai, whereas Dongfeng ka affordable electric Box bhi sell hota hai.

Expectation ye hai ki jaise jaise ye brands Spain mein apna model range expand karenge or zyada established honge, waise-waise 2026 mein unki sales bhi improve hogi.

Inmein se kuch brands fully confidence hai ki jo equipment upgrades plan kiye gaye hai, wo sales success mein convert honge.

Some brands have already withdrawn from the market

Aur bhi kuch brands hai jinhone kaafi few units sell kiye hai, actually 100 se bhi less, jaise BAIC, DR, Maxus, Moke International, SERES, Skywell, Sportequipe, Voyah, Yudo or Zhindou. Phir se, iska reason factors ka mix hai, jaise brand awareness low hona, dealer network ka limited hona, ya phir Spain market mein unka new entry hona (iska matlab ye bhi hai ki 2026 mein growth ka scope ho sakta hai). Moke or voyah jaise cases mein, unka niche market pe focus hona bhi ek big reason hai.

But aisa bhi ho sakta hai ki wo bilkul fail ho jaayein or market se nikal jaayein. GWM ke saath bhi kuch aisa hi hua, wo 2023 mein Spain aaye the, par commercial success na milne ki wajah se mid 2024 mein operations stop kar diye. Phir bhi, UK mein unki presence bani hui hai Haval or ORA jaise brands ke through, or expect kiya ja raha hai ki 2026 mein wo wapas European market mein entry karenge.
