Agar February or March mein bhi yehi momentum bana raha, So FY2026 mein 2 lakh units ka mark almost touch ho sakta hai.

Tata Motors
Tata Motors EV market mein abhi bhi top pe chal raha hai or January mein unhone apni highest ever monthly sales record kar li. January mein company ne 7,852 electric cars sell ki, jo January 2025 ke 5,292 units ke comparison mein 48% YoY growth hai. Isse Tata ko 43.52% market share mila.
Isse pehle ka record October 2025 ka tha, jab 7,701 units sell hui thi or market share around 40% tha. Is strong performance ka main credit Harrier EV ko jaata hai. Saath hi Nexon EV, Tiago EV or Punch EV bhi apne regular buyers ke saath well and good perform kar rahi hai.
Haan, Curvv EV coupe SUV abhi tak sales mein zyada momentum nahi gain kar payi hai.
JSW MG Motor
Next number pe aata hai JSW MG Motor. January mein company ne 4,606 EVs sell ki, jo last year ke 4,527 units ke compared sirf 2% ka slight increase hai. Isse MG ko 25.52% ka market share mila. Windsor EV ke saath MG ne Tata Motors ka lead gradually reduce kar diya, or phir apni lineup ko or expand kiya M9 MPV or Cyberster electric roadster ke saath. Cyberster ke launch ke sirf 6 months mein hi 500 se zyada units sell ho chuki hai. India mein MG ki other EVs mein Comet EV or ZS EV bhi available hai.
Mahindra
Mahindra ne 3,589 electric SUVs deliver ki, jo January 2025 ke 739 units ke comparison mein solid 356% ka jump hai. Iska result ye hua ki company ka EV market share last year ke sirf 6% se increase hokar 20% ho gaya. Ye growth mainly BE 6 or XEV 9e electric SUVs ki wajah se aayi hai, or thoda boost recently launch hui XEV 9S se bhi mila hai.
Vinfast
Number four pe VinFast aata hai, jinhone January mein 432 electric SUVs deliver ki. Sirf apne fourth month mein hi company ne 2% electric passenger vehicle market share le liya, jo kisi new brand ke liye kaafi impressive hai.
October mein 136 units se start hua tha, phir VF6 or VF7 (jo locally assembled hai) ki sales every month increase hoti gayi, November mein 310 units, or December mein 384 units.
Aur haan, Vinfast ne confirm bhi kar diya hai ki is month wo ek or model launch karne wale hai, seven seater Limo Green electric MPV.
Hyundai
Hyundai ne January 2026 mein 326 EVs sell ki, jo last year se 5 units less hai, means around 2% ka drop. Creta Electric or Ioniq 5 jaise models hone ke despite, brand ko EVs mein zyada demand nahi mil rahi, or ab 17 electric passenger vehicle makers mein se ye 5th position par aa gayi hai.
Kia
January 2026 mein Kia ki EV sales kaafi zyada increase hui, almost 5 times, or total 306 units sell ki gayi. Last year isi January mein sirf 51 units hi thi, isliye base kaafi low tha.
Growth strong lag rahi hai, but phir bhi ye last 6 months ka weakest month raha Kia ke liye, because August se December ke between sales much better thi.
Kia ki electric range mein Carens Clavis EV aati hai, jo mass market MPV hai, or saath hi EV6 or EV9 bhi hai, dono India mein CBU route se sell hoti hai.
BYD
BYD ne last month 224 electric cars sell ki, jo last year ke comparison mein around 34% ka decline hai. India mein BYD ke lineup mein Atto 3 SUV, Seal sedan, eMax 7 MPV or Sealion 7 SUV aati hai. By the way, Sealion 7 ki prices 1 January se increase ho gayi hai.
Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki ne 17 January ko apni first electric car, e-Vitara SUV, unveil ki thi. Ab ye Vahan portal par 210 units ke saath list ho chuki hai. Abhi tak prices announce nahi hui hai, but lagta hai yeh dealer dispatch units ho sakti hai. e-Vitara ko 3 trims mein launch kiya jaayega, Delta 49kWh, Zeta 61kWh or top end Alpha 61kWh.

BMW dominates with 68 percent market share

Tata Motors surpasses 71,000 passenger car sales in January 2026
Tata Motors ne January 2026 mein 71,000+ passenger cars sell ki hai, jo unki ab tak ki highest monthly sales hai. Ismein se 822 cars international markets mein export hui, or other 70,222 units India mein sell hui.
Also, Tata Nexon, whether ICE ho ya EV, dono mila ke usne bhi apni highest ever monthly sales record ki, 23,000+ units ke saath.
