Advanced tech (ADAS) boosts protection and pushes up insurance premiums and repair costs

While advanced driver assistance reduce accident risk, they also raise the cost of repairs and insurance claims due to expensive sensors and calibration requirements.

Advanced tech (ADAS) boosts protection and pushes up insurance premiums and repair costs

Market mein small cars pehle launch ho rahi hai, but bas time ki baat hai jab ye tech un tak bhi pahunch jaayegi. Manufacturers ko pata hai ki nowdays technology har new car segment ka backbone ban chuki hai, especially un customers ke liye jo thoda different or premium feel chahte hai. Digital features or connectivity most demanding hai, comfort or safety ke baad. But brands afford nahi kar sakte ki wo same jagah par ruk jaayein, unhe hamesha future mein dekhna padta hai, or obviously ismein ismein expense bhi aate hai.

Ye ek aisa expense hai jo thoda-bahut cover ho jaata hai jab customers kuch extra equipment install karwane ka decide karte hai, jo normally optional hota hai. Buyers apni dream car ke configuration mein ye cheezein isliye add karte hai so that future mein jab ye fail ho, us din extra price mil sake.

Par jo baat companies ignore karti hai wo ye hai ki nowdays cars repair karna kaafi difficult ho gaya hai. Mostly luxury brands driving assistance features ke liye extra charge lete hai, jab tak Europe unhe safety rules ke under mandatory nahi bana deta. Problem ye hai ki itni zyada driver-assist technology hone se insurance or repair dono ka cost kaafi increase ho jaata hai.

Customers are not in favor of ongoing spending on ADAS

Haan, ye baat sahi hai ki kuch systems ki effectiveness bilkul clear hai, jaise automatic emergency braking, jisne past 5 years mein complaints ki frequency ko 25% tak reduce kar diya hai.

But saath hi ye bhi true hai ki claims ka cost 60% tak increase ho jaata hai, so jo saving honi chahiye thi wo almost disappear ho jaati hai.

Ab problem sirf ye nahi rahi ki insurance ya repairs expensive ho gaye hai, rather brands jo continuously new innovations par money spend kar rahe hai, customers unhe utni value ke saath samajh hi nahi pa rahe, ya unko justified nahi lagta.

Yes actually, mostly cutomers ko nowdays latest cars mein jo Level 2 driving assistants aate hai na, unmein bilkul interest nahi hota. Or jo systems steering se hands ko hataana allow karte hai, unmein to or bhi kam.

Aisa nahi hai ki unhe system par trust nahi hai (jaise DGT bolta hai), but kaafi logon ko ye itne annoying lagte hai ki chance mile toh direct off kar dete hai. Jaise lane change warning ya intelligent speed limiter, ye dono kaafi log disable kar dete hai.

Par problem yeh hai ki front wali car se minimal bump ho jaaye, then grill mein lage radar sensors damage ho sakte hai, especially cruise control wale important sensors. Isse repair cost kaafi zyada ho jaati hai. Itna zyada ki insurers bhi kaafi time se complain kar rahe hai ki kuch cameras or sensors replace karne mein unhe thousands of euros ka expense karna padta hai, wo bhi aise systems ke liye jo drivers mostly use hi nahi karte.

Brands rule when it comes to repairing ADAS

Car par outer se koi damage show na ho, phir bhi ek small bump bhi sensor ko misalign kar sakta hai. Ek expert (ek reputed American repair workshop se) explain karta hai ki sirf 1 degree ka difference ho to 91 meters k edistance pe object se around 1,670 mm ka deviation aa sakta hai. Or is tech race mein sirf car owners hi nahi stuck hai, workshop owners ko bhi impact hota hai, because unhe ADAS calibration ke liye proper tools mein invest karna padta hai.

The danger of saving on ADAS repairs

Yeh log bhi, bilkul insurers ki tarah, complain karte hai ki pehle expert evaluations mein unka experience consider hota tha, jab itni saari security technologies nahi thi. but ab manufacturers ka hi last word hota hai, because repair or system calibration ke liye guidelines wahi set karte hai or unhi ko follow karna padta hai.

Ab cheezein thodi complicated ho rahi hai. Jab tak insurance chal rahi hoti hai, tab tak koi issue nahi hota. Problem tab aati hai jab repair ki responsibility owner ki hoti hai. Us time ek option nikalta hai, sensors ko again recalibrate hi mat karo.

buyers money saving mein hamesha koi na koi aisa guy find kar lete hai jo sensors calibrate na kare. Iska result ye hota hai ki systems jaise automatic emergency braking work hi nahi karte.

Phir car bina kisi problem ke owner change kar leti hai, because car ke inner aisa koi simple method nahi hota clearly bata de ki kaun se sensors work kar rahe hai or kaun se nahi. And yes, yeh info traffic se request karene wale reports mein bhi nahi dikhti.

Note: Iss news mein jitne statics ya examples diye hue hai wo Europe or Spain se related hai.
